The primary object of the Trust is to preserve buildings in the Borough of Ipswich of historical, architectural or constructional interest which may be at risk, either because of dilapidation or threatened demolition for redevelopment. Projects undertaken by the Trust are not intended to compete with what private individuals or commercial undertakings might be able to achieve. Rather, the intention is to carry out restorations which are not commercially attractive thus saving buildings which otherwise might be lost, and at the same time offering an example to the whole community of what can be achieved. The people of Ipswich benefit from living in a town which has more historical interest and visual character.
